Eternal God, save us from the violence we do to ourselves and others. Remind us that it is the meek who inherit the earth, that it is the peacemakers who shall be called children of God.
It is sometimes easier to look inwards rather than outwards. We acknowledge our own failings and the desire to satisfy our own needs.
Help us to love when it seems easier to hate.
Help us to strive for peace when it is easier to declare war.
May we find peace, joy and strength in the love we have for one another. Encourage us to strive for justice and righteousness. For we ask it in Jesus name, Amen.
