Doubting Thomas. It is a famous story. Truth is Thomas probably does not deserve the criticism he receives. We too would like to see. However, John’s gospel is more than just a story about what it took for Thomas to believe. It is a story about all of the disciples and the fear that had overtaken their hearts.
Charmila Ireland is a student at Knox College and she has written an excellent reflection on this portion of John’s Gospel. As you prepare for worship on Sunday I would encourage you to read it.

Questions for Sunday
- Do you, like Thomas, require proof of the risen Christ?
- What might this proof look like?
- In what ways have you locked yourself behind a door?
Prayer for Sunday
Gracious God, open my eyes, open my ears, open my heart that I may see, hear and know your great love and grace. Allow me always to proclaim my Lord and my God! Amen.
