Tomorrow is Canada Day. Across the nation people will gather and celebrate the freedoms we enjoy living in this great country. It is an occasion to remember the goodness of God and to give thanks for what we have.
Gracious God,
we give thanks for the nation of Canada.
We pray that your will would be known in this land.
That your Holy Spirit would flow from sea to sea.
That the work of your church be accomplished
In wooded vale, city streets and all places in between.Loving God,
May we always remember your generosity.
Bless all in Canada that we would seek to do your will.
Remind us to care for the natural resources you have provided.
That our politicians and leaders of industry would put the concerns
Of the planet before profit.
Provide our governments with wisdom, to make good choices for the citizens of Canada.
May your compassion and justice be known and felt by all.
We pray that we might know peace and prosperity.
That we would have unity of action amidst our wonderful diversity.
Safe us from violence, jealousy and evil in all its forms.Allow us to walk the path you have set for us,
Trusting always in your great love and mercy.We ask this in the name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Saviour. Amen.
