Children’s Story – The Wedding at Cana

January 16, 2022

In our bible passage today Jesus, his mother and the disciples have all been invited to a wedding. What might have been a regular wedding full of fun, music and dancing was quickly changed when they ran out of wine. As the Ministry to Children sermon below describes it, imagine going to birthday party and they ran out of cake! What kind of a birthday party is that.

Jesus does some interesting things here. First he listens to his mom and second he turns ordinary water into wine. This is the first miracle that John records in his gospel.

Parents read the scripture passage with your kids.

Scripture: John 2: 1-11

You can then either watch the Ministry to Children sermon it’s about 9 minutes long or you can engage in the craft. The video for the craft is also posted below and it’s about 15 minutes long. There are two craft options presented in the video.

Also included is a link to a site called Children’s Sermons & Object Lessons. The children’s sermon and demonstration are very similar to the Ministry to Children offering, however there is no video to watch.
